Where to stay in Marble Arch: a guide to Connaught Village
Marble Arch is one of the few places in central London where you can be a five-minute walk from Hyde Park, ten minutes from Oxford Street, and still sleep on a quiet Georgian street. This is what the area is actually like to live in, not just to visit.
Marble Arch and Connaught Village, in plain terms
Marble Arch sits at the north-east corner of Hyde Park, where Oxford Street, Park Lane and Edgware Road meet. Step one street north of that junction and the noise stops. Connaught Village is a pocket of white stucco townhouses, independent boutiques, galleries and neighbourhood restaurants built around Connaught Street and Kendal Street — close enough to walk everywhere, far enough that you sleep well.
It is a residential area first and a visitor area second. That matters if you are staying more than a weekend: there is a butcher, a wine shop, a pharmacy, cafés with regulars, and a supermarket a couple of minutes away. You buy your own coffee in the morning instead of queuing in a hotel lobby.

Business guests like it because the Central line, Paddington and the Elizabeth line put the City, Canary Wharf and Heathrow within easy reach. Longer-stay guests like it because it is a real neighbourhood with everyday shops, not a strip of hotels.
Where to eat and shop nearby
Connaught Village itself has a handful of small restaurants and cafés that fill with locals rather than tour groups. Edgware Road, five minutes west, is the best concentration of Lebanese, Egyptian and Gulf cooking in London, open late. Marylebone High Street, twenty minutes on foot, is the weekend option: bookshops, delis and a farmers' market on Sundays.
